Details

Accurate and timely moisture measurement is important for properly compacting geomaterials during construction and to understand the environment below existing pavements. TRB is hosting a webinar on Thursday, September 17, 2020 from 2:00 to 3:30 PM Eastern exploring newer, potentially less expensive and time-consuming methods that continuously measure moisture in pavement foundations. Presenters will discuss case studies that demonstrate cost savings from current moisture measurement techniques during project construction and seasonal pavement monitoring of existing roadways. They will provide information about effective instruments and systems for improving transportation asset management.

This webinar is sponsored by the TRB Standing Committee on Mechanics and Drainage of Saturated and Unsaturated Geomaterials.

Some registrants will need to pay $95 to attend this webinar. Sign into MyTRB.org to view registration information.

Webinar agenda and presenters

  1. Cost saving opportunities from more effective moisture measurement: John Siekmeier, Minnesota Department of Transportation
  2. Spatial and seasonal moisture variation: Soheil Nazarian, University of Texas at El Paso
