The importance of safety cannot be overstated and requires continued shifts in the approach to safety management within the public transportation industry. TRB is hosting a webinar on Monday, November 2, 2020, from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM Eastern that will describe the characteristics of Employee Safety Reporting (ESR) programs, which are required by the U.S. Federal Transit Administration (FTA). Presenters will discuss the access of reporting, feedback loops, and training and promotion. They will also examine data utilization, appeal processes, and program evaluation.

This webinar draws on research from TCRP Report 218: Characteristics and Elements of Non-Punitive Employee Safety Reporting Systems for Public Transportation.

This webinar is sponsored by the Transit Cooperative Research Program. There is no fee to attend this webinar; however, sign into MyTRB.org to view registration information.

  2. Case studies: Jodi Godfrey, Center for Urban Transportation Research at the University of South Florida
