How important is it for airports and public agencies to collaborate? TRB hosted a webinar on Thursday, February 18, 2021 from 2:00 to 3:30 PM Eastern that discussed these collaboration efforts. Public-use airports, metropolitan planning organizations, and local land-use/ transportation planning agencies all have independent yet interrelated planning processes. Presenters provided examples of collaborative partnering among airport and surface transportation planning organizations. They shared case studies of where such planning has occurred and lessons learned from these experiences. Presenters also introduced a self-assessment tool that allows managers and staff to identify current challenges with collaborative planning and strategies to enhance it.
The webinar featured research from ACRP Report 216: Guidebook for Assessing Collaborative Planning Efforts Among Airport and Public Planning Agencies.
