Stabilization additives are used to increase the strength and stiffness of road foundations in weak and susceptible soils. Numerous additives exist for improving performance of aggregate base and subgrade layers. TRB will host a webinar on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM Eastern that will explore examples and case studies using conventional and nonconventional additives. Presenters will discuss non-proprietary additives that are commonly used and alternative proprietary additives that are garnering new interest. Presenters will also share compaction methods to improve pavement foundation layers.
This webinar is a follow on to the TRB Annual Meeting Workshop: Performance of Stabilized Pavement Foundations With Conventional and Unconventional Stabilizers held on Friday, January 22, 2021.
This webinar is sponsored by the TRB Standing Technical Committees on Stabilization of Geomaterials and Recycled Materials, Transportation Earthworks, and Geotechnical Instrumentation and Modeling.
