Details
TRB conducted a webinar on Wednesday, April 19, 2017, from 2:00PM to 3:30PM ET that explores state efforts to convert old traffic circles into modern roundabouts, which can be safer and more efficient. The first modern roundabouts were introduced into the United States in the 1990s. While the number of roundabouts in the U.S. is growing, the public and elected officials sometimes confuse them with traffic circles built in the 1940s and 1950s. These traffic circles may be confusing to navigate as a driver. The presenters discussed the design basics behind the conversions.

This webinar was organized by the TRB Standing Committee on Roundabouts. A certificate for 1.5 Professional Development Hours (PDHs) was provided to attendees who register and attend the webinar as an individual. This webinar was approved by the American Institute of Certified Planners for 1.5 Certification Maintenance Credits. Contact Reggie Gillum at RGillum@nas.edu for instructions on receiving a copy of the recorded webinar.

The slides are available.
