State departments of transportation own and manage fleets of vehicles and equipment. Once vehicles and equipment reach an age, level or use, or condition that limits usefulness for operations, these assets must be disposed of in an economical way. TRB will host a webinar on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM Eastern that will provide guidance on selecting effective strategies for preparing, marketing, and selling surplus equipment and vehicles to maximize proceeds based on NCHRP Research Report 1074: Maximizing Proceeds from the Fleet Asset Disposal Sales Process. Presenters will cover the purpose and application of the supplemental spreadsheet-based tool and implementation plan.

The first 60 minutes of the webinar will be for presentations and the final 30 minutes will be reserved for audience questions.
Learning Objectives
At the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Determine what marketing practice or strategies can help improve equipment disposal net proceeds
  • Use project tools to self-assess disposal options
  • Create an implementation plan for adopting project guidance

Professional Development Hours
Professional engineers (PEs) who register and attend the entire webinar as an individual will be awarded 1.5 Professional Development Hours (PDHs). TRB’s webinar program awards PDH credits only to the registered individual, and not to other members of a group that view the webinar together. To be eligible for the credits, individuals must remain signed in for the entire webinar, including for any question and answer session following the presentations.
