Airport personnel are invited to a TRB webinar on Thursday, September 26, 2019, from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM ET. The webinar features research from the Airport Cooperative Research Program (ACRP) Research Report 180: Guidebook for Quantifying Airport Ground Access Vehicle Activity for Emissions Modeling.

This webinar will discuss how airports can determine the data required to model ground access vehicle (GAV) emissions for airport projects and explain the established methods for obtaining and/or deriving GAV-specific data for modeling purposes. Airports conduct air quality studies for conformity determinations and other environmental and health-related assessments. GAVs include private vehicles, taxis, shuttles, rental cars, and delivery vehicles. They can be significant contributors to an airport’s emissions inventory and should therefore be considered in airport air quality studies.

This webinar is sponsored by the Airport Cooperative Research Program. There is no fee to attend this webinar; however, sign into MyTRB.org to view registration information.

Webinar Presenter

  • Robbie Gross, KB Environmental Sciences

Moderated by:  David Breen, Port of Portland

 Webinar Outline

  1. Methods for quantifying airport GAV activity for emissions modeling
  2. Tutorial that guides users through GAV-related emissions computations
  3. Collecting and developing GAV data in ways that are accurate, cost-effective, and appropriate for emissions modeling
  4. Question and answer session

The first 60 minutes of the webinar will be for presentations and the final 30 minutes will be reserved for audience questions.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this webinar, participants will able to:

  • Determine the appropriate level of emissions data needed to model GAV emissions for airport projects
  • Apply methods available for quantifying airport GAV activity for the purposes of emissions modeling
  • Identify how to collect and develop GAV data for emissions modeling

Continuing Education Units for Accredited Airport Executives
