Transportation attorneys are invited to a webinar on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. This webinar will provide an overview of legal issues associated with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Assignment Program for federal transportation programs. Currently, six state departments of transportation (DOTs) participate in the NEPA Assignment Program, which allows the state to assume the Secretary of Transportation's responsibilities under NEPA for one or more transportation projects that meet certain criteria. Presenters will illustrate lessons learned that were encountered during the application process. They will also discuss the memorandum of understanding with the U.S. DOT and present case studies from three states – Alaska, Utah, and Texas.

This webinar was organized by the TRB Standing Committee on Transportation Law.
