Airports must maintain compliance with environmental regulations associated with deicing operations. TRB is hosting a webinar on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 from 2:00 to 3:30 PM Eastern that will discuss a planning approach for deicing operations at airports, based upon application of Best Management Practices (BMPs) in an adaptive management framework. Presenters will describe five categories of BMPs: aircraft deicing source reduction, airfield pavement deicing source reduction, deicing stormwater runoff containment and collection, deicing runoff treatment and recycling, and deicing runoff system components.
The webinar features research from ACRP Research Report 14: Deicing Planning Guidelines and Practices for Stormwater Management Systems, Second Edition.
