Connected and automated vehicles (CAVs) are a reality, but can our roads keep up? TRB hosted a webinar on Monday, June 21, 2021 from 1:00-3:00 PM Eastern that identified what is already available, and how to safely and efficiently deploy future CAVs. Presenters focused specifically on connected and automated vehicle infrastructure systems (CAVIS). They discussed procurement considerations from state and local government agency perspectives and provided use cases for both highway and transit CAVIS.

This webinar was organized by the TRB Standing Technical Committee on Research Innovation Implementation Management. For more information on CAV, read our blog Research Helps Connected and Automated Vehicles Steer Closer to Reality. TRB is also hosting the virtual 2021 Automated Road Transportation Symposium from July 12-15.

The slides and recording are available.
