The TRB Annual Meeting can be overwhelming for a first-time attendee. TRB jointly hosted a webinar with the Council of University Transportation Centers (CUTC) on Friday, November 5, 2021 from 1:00 to 2:30 PM Eastern that provided students and those early in their transportation careers with practical advice on how to get the most out of the TRB Annual Meeting. This webinar focused on helping a diverse audience, including students and early career professionals, on advancing their careers in the transportation field. Additionally, faculty members who accompany their students to the Annual Meeting would benefit from this webinar so they can better help guide their students through TRB’s Annual Meeting. Presenters from different backgrounds considered factors that facilitate more meaningful involvement in the TRB Annual Meeting and in TRB committees. They also discussed their experiences with TRB standing committee involvement and provide advice about career and development and networking opportunities to get the most out of their TRB volunteer activities and Annual Meeting participation.

This webinar was organized by TRB’s Special Committee on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and TRB’s Executive Office.

The recorded webinar is available.
