You may have learned your ABCs, but have you learned them in relation to BBs (buried bridges)? TRB hosted a webinar on Monday, March 14, 2022 that explained how buried bridge structures can be used for accelerated bridge construction (the ABC referred to below). The modular and/or repeatable elements used in buried bridge construction apply to other bridge types. Presenters focused on construction of shorter span bridges. They identified the public and project benefits of buried bridge structures and how to apply them along with examples.

This webinar is sponsored by the TRB Standing Technical Committees on Culverts, Buried Bridges and Soil Structure Interaction, and Construction of Bridges and Structures. It also refers to NCHRP Web-Only Document 242: Recommended AASHTO Guide Specifications for ABC Design and Construction.

The slides and recording are available.
