TRB‘s Highway Capacity Manual, Seventh Edition: A Guide for Multimodal Mobility Analytics (HCM7) updates research on highway operations and quality of service. Past HCM editions always analyzed freeways and surface streets as separate facilities. Now, for the first time, HCM7 provides methods for evaluating interactions between freeways and arterials. TRB will host a webinar on Thursday, July 14, 2022 from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM Eastern that will explore the new facility and systems method in the HCM7, including two-lane highways, freeway-arterial systems, and active traffic management. The webinar will also provide an overview of the methods and discuss ways the results will impact practitioners.

This is the second of a three part series on the new HCM7. Part 3 in the series will address new multimodal methods in the manual on August 3. Part 1 addresses overall new methods in the HCM7 and cover ways these new methods impact practitioners.

This webinar is sponsored by the TRB Standing Technical Committee on Highway Capacity and Quality of Service.

Registration is free for employees of TRB sponsors as well as Titanium and Cobalt Global Affiliates. The registration rate for all other attendees is $100. A recording will be sent to all registrants after the webinar.
