In these times of rapid and unprecedented change, the critical need for urgent action in advancing greater workforce diversity and development, innovation and continuous learning, and “people-readiness” at all levels has risen to new levels. Climate change, growing inequality, increasing digitalization, new players and business models highlight the critical role of transportation careers in community-building and achieving equity-centered and sustainable outcomes. TRB hosted the second webinar in this series on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM Eastern that focused on the concepts of sustainable mobility and transport and all that it encompasses. Presenters discussed the importance of the transportation workforce’s role in equity-centered sustainability, environmental justice considerations, and the Zero Emissions Vehicle (ZEV) program.

The first webinar in this series, The Future Transportation Workforce is Happening Now!, was held on Wednesday, February 8, 2023. The third webinar in this series, Transportation Equity: Community-Building in Action, will be held on Wednesday, March 22, 2023.

This webinar was sponsored by TRB’s Executive Office.
