Airports of all sizes want to understand the broader industry shift towards alternative power solutions and how to prepare. TRB hosted a webinar on Thursday, May 25, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM Eastern that introduced the emerging electric and hybrid electric aircraft industry. Presenters estimated potential market growth, provided guidance to help airports estimate the potential impact on their facilities, and suggested ways to prepare for this industry shift. Attendees saw a toolkit, which includes a database of electric aircraft and estimations of electric power requirements. Presenters also discussed the broader industry landscape of alternative power in aviation.
This webinar is based on ACRP Research Report 236: Preparing Your Airport for Electric Aircraft and Hydrogen Technologies.
This webinar was sponsored by TRB’s Airport Cooperative Research Program.
