Broadband communications, renewable energy, and many other utility-related facilities are seeking space in state departments of transportation (DOTs) rights-of-way. State DOTs are investigating the use of compensation structures in exchange for accommodating these utilities, and are seeking approaches and valuation methods to set fees. TRB will host a webinar on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM Eastern that will present a range of approaches to consider for setting compensation structures for utility accommodations.
This webinar is based on NCHRP Research Report 1053: Valuation and Compensation Approaches in Utility Accommodation: A Guide and NCHRP Web-Only Document 359: Valuation and Compensation for Accommodating Utility and Communications Installations in Public Rights-of-Way.
This webinar is sponsored by TRB’s National Cooperative Highway Research Program and the Standing Technical Committee on Utilities.
Registration is free for employees of TRB sponsors as well as Titanium and Cobalt Global Affiliates. The registration rate for all other attendees is $100. Sign into to view registration information. Contact Patrice Davenport to inquire about becoming a TRB sponsor or global affiliate organization.
