When risk management is proactively integrated into organizational decision-making, with risks clearly officially documented and considered, it leads to better management of resources and a culture of preparedness. TRB hosted a webinar on Monday, October 27, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Eastern that focused on three levels of risk management: enterprise, program, and project. Presenters shared key needs, challenges, and knowledge gaps associated with integrating risk management, along with evidence-based strategies to sustain these practices within transportation agencies. Presenters also introduced a website and digital content that provide guidance, examples, and tools to support transportation stakeholders in building and maintaining effective risk management frameworks.
This webinar was based on NCHRP Research Report 1146: Risk Management at State DOTs: Building Momentum and Sustaining the Practice.
This webinar was sponsored by TRB’s National Cooperative Highway Research Program.
