Maintaining airfield electrical systems safely can be challenging for airport staff if they haven’t been properly trained. TRB hosted a webinar on Thursday, April 9, 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM Eastern that provided guidance and best practices from ACRP WebResource 20: Safe Maintenance of Airfield Electrical Systems for Small Airports, with a focus on practical, accessible approaches for small-hub, non-hub, reliever, and general aviation airports. Presenters introduced key management considerations; highlighted useful tools and resources; described methods for recognizing hazards and mitigating risks; and shared curriculum outlines and job aids to support safe and effective system maintenance.
This webinar was sponsored by TRB’s Airport Cooperative Research Program.
The slides are available.
