As state departments of transportation accelerate digital transformation and AI readiness, effective data governance has become the cornerstone for ensuring data quality, integration, and trust across transportation systems. TRB hosted a webinar on Friday, May 8, 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM Eastern that highlighted insights from NCHRP Project 20-44(48) Peer Exchanges on Data Management and Governance Practices, which convened DOT leaders nationwide to explore strategies for establishing and sustaining robust data governance programs. The session also examined key issues identified during the peer exchanges and their implications for advancing data governance across agencies. Presenters shared a brief project overview and moderated a discussion with DOT data officers who participated in the peer exchanges.
This webinar was sponsored by TRB’s National Cooperative Highway Research Program.
The slides are available. Please visit the webinar details page to access the recording.
