“Common use” is an operating philosophy that refers to using facilities, services, and infrastructure in a shared manner by multiple airport stakeholders. For instance, airlines, federal agencies, business partners, and concessionaires can incorporate the same systems beyond curbside, check-in, and gate/ramp locations. TRB hosted a webinar on Thursday, August 6, 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM Eastern that discussed how a broader, holistic perspective on common use can benefit airports and provided guidance for developing, growing, managing, and sustaining a common use program.
