Safety and security at general aviation airports continue to evolve as new risks emerge and both state and local regulations change. TRB hosted a webinar on Wednesday, September 2, 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM Eastern that explored how the legal landscape has shifted since the publication of ACRP Synthesis 3: General Aviation Safety and Security Practices in 2007. Presenters discussed the report's original conclusions, examined significant updates in state and local laws over the past two decades, and identified current legal trends and regulatory approaches that can help airport operators better understand today's safety and security environment.

This webinar was based on ACRP Legal Research Digest 48: Legal Issues Concerning the Safety and Security of General Aviation Airports.

This webinar was sponsored by TRB’s Airport Cooperative Research Program.

The slides are available. Please visit the webinar details page to access the recording.
