AI agents are expanding what artificial intelligence can do by performing multi-step tasks and interacting with external systems. These capabilities create new opportunities for transportation professionals to apply AI to complex planning, data, and modeling challenges. TRB hosted a webinar on Thursday, October 22, 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM Eastern that introduced agentic AI and explored its potential applications in transportation. Presenters shared a framework for agentic transportation systems and demonstrated applications for personalized trip planning, data augmentation, and travel behavior modeling.
