Pavement management decisions must balance infrastructure conditions, roadway safety, and limited agency resources. Incorporating friction and crash data into pavement management systems can help agencies consider pavement surface safety alongside traditional measures such as cracking, ride quality, and rutting. TRB will host a webinar on Friday, November 6, 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM Eastern that will explore how agencies can integrate friction and crash data into pavement management decisions to support roadway safety and Vision Zero goals. Presenters will discuss the relationship between pavement friction and roadway safety and how friction and crash data can be incorporated into treatment selection and pavement investment decisions. Attendees will learn approaches for balancing competing pavement conditions and safety priorities within defined agency resources.
This webinar is sponsored by TRB’s Standing Technical Committee on Pavement Performance, Evaluation and Surface Interaction.
The registration fee is $100. Purchase a webinar package for discounted pricing. Complimentary registration is available for employees of TRB sponsors, standing technical committee chairs, involved CRP panel members, media, congressional staff, and TRB or National Academies staff. Visit MyTRB.org for details.
A recording will be sent to all registrants after the webinar.
